Timeline

Where it all began
In the quiet embrace of fate, our paths first crossed, a meeting that seemed so simple yet would shape the years to come. Kayla, a free spirit at the time with roots in Durban but a heart that wandered across continents, had no idea that the universe was quietly preparing her for a love unlike any other. Ryan, a man pursuing his dreams with dedication, balancing the world of rugby and business studies, found himself on the same journey, searching for something more.
It was a friend who brought us together, a spark that lit up the quiet evening of 2013. Two weeks later, a breakfast date would begin a conversation that never ceased. Despite the distance, with Kayla in Cape Town and Ryan in Durban, we built a connection that transcended geography. Ryan would fly to Cape Town for family visits, and Kayla would look forward to each moment we spent together, a constant reminder of a love growing deeper each day.
By 2014, Ryan made the decision to follow his heart to Cape Town, where we began to build our lives together. But it was in the tranquil setting of Knysna, on a starry night in April, where he asked Kayla to be his, forever. The moonlight reflected in the lagoon, the stars above us as witnesses, and in that moment, Kayla knew her heart had found its home.
Now, eleven years later, we stand at the threshold of forever. A journey full of dreams, love, and unwavering support for each other has brought us to this moment. And soon, we will exchange vows, promising to continue this adventure, side by side, for the rest of our lives.
As ever,
Kayla & Ryan
In the quiet of a thousand skies,
We found a love that never dies,
Through endless days and distant nights,
Two hearts aligned in gentle flight.
You, my strength, my guiding star,
A love so near, yet stretched so far,
In every dream, in every tear,
Together, love, we persevere.
From moonlit nights in Knysna’s glow,
To paths we’ve walked, both high and low,
Eleven years have come to pass,
A bond as endless as the sea.
Now, forever’s just a breath away,
A promise that will never sway,
With every dawn and every fall,
I’ll love you more, my heart, my all.

Honeymoon wishes
If you wish to bless us
To our cherished friends, both far and near,
A heartfelt request, we hold dear.
As we embark on love’s sweet course,
A humble wish, with gentle force.
Instead of trinkets, ribbons, or lace,
We seek not gifts that time may erase,
But rather, from your kindness, a token bright,
To help our journey take flight.
A gift voucher for Canal Walk’s shining stores,
Or V&A Waterfront’s treasures and more,
Such tokens will carry us far and wide,
As we build our life, side by side.
Your presence is all we truly seek,
Yet if you wish, a gesture unique,
In these small tokens, joy we’ll find,
And carry with us, heart and mind.
With gratitude, we thank you so,
For helping our new love to grow.
